Where you gonna run
When there's no more sun?
Where you gonna run?
Where you gonna hide?
(The Black Seeds - Black Sunrise)

Well that's it!  I've called Stumps on this adventure.  The rain has won.  I'm packing up and going home.  I'd still like to explore the Barrington Tops and surrounding areas.  Maybe next year I'll resume my pursuit of happiness in this region.
The rain hadn't quite finished with me yet though.
I whizzed down the Pacific Hwy towards the Hunter Valley turnoff. It just got sunnier and sunnier.  By the time that I stopped for lunch in Maitland it was quite hot.  I could feel my mood lifting.
High St, Maitland
I like Maitland a lot.  There's things that make you chuckle as you walk down High Street.
Like the firm of Solicitors, Vile and Vile.
Art Gallery

When I came out of the Art Gallery the sky was dark. I legged it back to the car post haste. Just made it and down it came, torrential rain, hail, thunder and lightning. The hail was bad enough  but small compared to recent events elsewhere.
Hail
Having dumped it's load, the storm moved on and so did I, up the Golden Hwy.
Approaching Denman, once again the sky was getting very dark.  A massive storm was heading in across the hills and plains. It hit just as I was crossing the old bridge into Denman. I had to crawl along doing about 20.  Visibility was almost nonexistent. No hail just wind and rain.
Storm approaching
Once again, having dumped about an inch in 5 minutes, it moved on.  I however had had enough.
All quiet in Denman tonight.
What a send-off!
