11. Newstead Creek
Through Blackall without stopping. Today was Show Day, so far too busy for me.
Stopped in Barcaldine and spent longer looking around there than I intended. The Tree of Knowledge display is a very impressive piece of work. Almost impossible to convey in a photograph what it is really like.

Elsewhere Barcaldine had some interesting examples of public buildings and also domestic architecture.

Finally left Barcaldine in the late afternoon heading west for Ilfracombe and Longreach.
Found a nice, quiet free-camping spot just 3kms east of Ilfracombe. Got it all to myself.
