Day 12, Erldunda

Slept like a log and awoke just before sunrise.
Headed to Kata Tjuta and did a shortish gorge walk before the day warmed up too much.  Saw a flock of budgies flying around and drinking from a rock-pool.

Then I returned to Uluru and completed a circumnavigation by car. It really is quite impressive. The surprise for me is how lush the surrounding countryside is, with many plants flowering at the moment -- Grevillea, Hakea, Thryptomene, Erimophila, Acacia, Ptilotus, Calandrinia, to name a few.

In the afternoon I returned to Erldunda on the Stuart Hwy to resume heading north.

Weird sort of hazy, smoky day, not quite as hot as yesterday.  The sun was blood red as it sank. Not sure what that means?
