Day 41, Forster to Mungo Brush
Cruised along towards the Myall Lakes at a leisurely pace. Dived off the Lakes Way at a few places to check out the coast. Elizabeth Beach, Boomerang Beach, Seal Rocks all beautiful.
Stopped in Bulahdelah for lunch and to restock on food and fuel. The plan was then to take the road to Bombah Point, cross the channel on the ferry and find a campsite somewhere around Mungo Brush on Bombah Broadwater. A nice short drive.
Just leaving Bulahdelah when I noticed a sign saying 'Ferry out of service'.
Some people were approaching from that direction. They stopped and said, "Ferry's closed".
The only option now, if I want to camp on the Lakes, is to head down to Tea Gardens and come back up from there, so that is what I did.
It added a bit to my drive but it wasn't too bad.
Ended up in Mungo Brush campground. All the other campgrounds are pretty full, but this one you have to book online and people obviously are put off by that because it's empty. Fortunately there's phone reception here, so I took my pick of the sites.
