Day 37, Coraki to Jackadgery.
Very foggy morning on the Richmond River. The river had disappeared even though it was only 25 metres away.
Where's the river gone? |
Had a quick look at Evans Head, and then on to the Pacific Hwy. What a sewer of a road it is.
Turned off to Iluka -- fishing town at the mouth of the mighty Clarence River. Surrounded by national park rainforest.
Wanted to see if Woody Head campground in the national park had any free spots. Got stuck in a line of caravans waiting to get in. Turned around and left.

Waiting to get into Woody Head |
Then I went to Yamba, on the other side of the Clarence. Old favourite spot. It really hasn't changed much up on the headland and around the main beach. Back on the flat there's a lot more development, but that's OK.
There's a hot rod event on this weekend and all the caravan parks are full, so I won't be staying in Yamba this time.
Hot! |
Went into Grafton to see the famous jacaranda trees in full bloom.
Jacarandas in Grafton |
Googled for likely caravan parks and came up with the Mann River Caravan Park at Jackadgery, 40 kms from Grafton on the road to Glenn Innes.
Beautiful wooded hills. Impressive Mann River.
