Day 34, Childers to Mapleton

Checked out Woodgate Beach.  Quite liked the look of 'Chateau Relaxo'.

Chateau Relaxo

Headed into Childers, another town full of history, some of it pretty recent.  The building in the photo below which now hosts the Subway is the infamous Palace Hotel.

Back on the Bruce and into Maryborough.  It's yet another one of these regional Qld cities packed full of faded grandeur.  Once again, I liked it.  A bit neglected but lots of character.

Maryborough

Cut across to Tin Can Bay.  

Didn't like the look of any of the caravan parks in this area, Eventually ended up in the hills behind Nambour at Mapleton.  

Nice cool night, too.
