Day 30, Mackay to Marlborough

Well, if you can believe the weather bureau, we had 70mm of rain overnight.  It did rain pretty heavily, but we survived quite well in the van.  A drip or two here and there.  Still raining while I was trying to pack up the van, and 97% humidity apparently.

Had a bit of a look around the centre of Mackay.  Some good old buildings, many from the 1920s and 30s I would guess.

Rained quite heavily as I travelled on.  Ducked off the highway here and there for a look, but nothing to see but rain and mud.

Eventually the rain cleared.  Not wanting to drive too far, I stopped at a little place called Marlborough about 100kms out of Rockhampton.  The restaurant here had Red Emperor as fish-of-the-day.  Very nice, too.
