Day 23, Charters Towers to Townsville

Only a short drive today -- 140kms -- so I got into Townsville about midday.  Got the best spot in the caravan park, up in the back corner overlooking the lake. Ensuite bathroom, too.  Not much shade though.  I just about expired, putting the van up in the heat of the midday sun.  Got the awning out for the first time.
I'll be in Townsville for a few days.  I've got Rokky (the Amarok) booked in for his first service on Monday.
