Day 19, Carnarvon Gorge
Clear night and cold morning.
Up early and on the track. Walked up to Ward's Canyon and back (10km). 5 creek crossings (stepping stones).
Beautiful sunny day. That would be one of the best half-day walks I've ever done.
The Gorge is just a staggeringly beautiful place. Massive white sandstone cliffs either side. Fan palms, Macrozamia cycads, King ferns, yellow hibiscus, pink hibiscus... Crystal clear creeks. Amazing wildlife: Pretty-face wallabies, platypus, gliders, flying fox, bettongs, red-backed fairy wrens, etc, etc.
